Martin Place is one of the most well known squares in the Sydney CBD. With it's historic, sandstone buildings housing the big banks such as The Commonwealth Bank, The Reserve Bank and Macquarie Bank it has an air of authority as well we beauty due to the brightly coloured hanging flowers that line the area. Channel Seven's News Headquarters are here, every day of the week you can see people attempting to catch a glimpse of the well known Australian TV presenters.
Martin Place is also home to the Sydney General Post Office (GPO) at the Western end of the area. Other notable buildings include the MLC Centre and the Cenotaph which commemorates the ANZAC’s as well as other fallen soldiers from conflicts.
With it’s own train station part of the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra line, Martin Place is right at George Street and Wynyard Stations allowing access to all public transport in and out of the Sydney CBD.
